Fragrant Nature Munnar

The very mention of the name floods back images of beauty and luxury to those who have visited Fragrant Hotels at least once. Fragrant Hotels, synonymous with beautiful locations and luxury, are located at three places namely Kochi, Kollam, and Munnar.

Fragrant hotels started their journey as one of the leading names of luxury in 2009 with its four-star Hotel in Kollam looking out at the backwaters. Spread over almost 5 acres on Mala Lake near Paravur, they are renowned for their Prana Spa that offers Ayurvedic massages and Yoga sessions. They also have other facilities like swimming pools, Jacuzzi, traditional cruise boat, souvenir shop and amphitheatre.

Later, it set up the five-star hotel near the former office of the East India Company. Steeped in history, art and stories, the hotel has contemporary rooms with views of the harbour. With guest rooms spanning across 3 floors, the hotel offers facilities like babysitting, terrace lounge, pool café, street café and more. It received South Asian Travel Awards 2017 for Leading family hotel/ resort in October 2017. In 2016, Fragrant Hotel Munnar was set up.

Accommodation or rooms available can be classified into 4, namely Tropic Green Rooms, Wild Orchid Suites, Moonlight Bliss Rooms, and Royal Fragrant Suites.

• Tropic Green rooms: These rooms are available with king-size beds look out at mountains and are well furnished with plush comfortable interiors. And yes, it has a warm and cosy fireplace as well to give it the old fairy tale charm.
• The Moonlight Bliss Rooms: These rooms are ideal for romantics. The rooms have private open terraces that look out at the mountains. The bedrooms are larger than the tropic green rooms and also have a private sitting area.
• Wild Orchid Suite: It is the honeymoon suite with private balconies that look out at the highlands. They have a separate sitting area and large bedroom with fireplaces. To add the honeymoon touch, the bathrooms also have a Jacuzzi.
• Royal Fragrant Suite: As the name suggests, it is the most luxurious of the lot. They housea spacious bedroom with fireplace, a powder room, a sitting cum dining area with fireplaces, a bathroom with Jacuzzi and a private terrace-garden overlooking the mountains with sitting space.

Who would like to indulge in any strenuous or taxing activity in such a luxurious space? But, in rare occasions that the guests are determined to explore and Fragrant nature provides them with those options as well. One may take a walk of the tea gardens or tea factory or trek or go bird watching. The front office team would be ready to guide with the ways and charges. One can   go visit the Eravikulam National park or the Marayoor sandalwood forests or the Chinnar wildlife sanctuary or the Echo Point. If lucky, one may even catch a glimpse of the endangered and endemic Nilgiri Tahr!
